Web-Based Course Takes Female Entrepreneurs to the Next Level

Northern Kentucky University and The New York Times Collaborate on Delivery of New Course

The Fifth Third Bank Entrepreneurship Institute (EI) at Northern Kentucky University is collaborating with The New York Times Knowledge Network to offer web-based classes for female entrepreneurs nationwide.

The first class is scheduled to begin October 17. The web-based course entitled Women and Entrepreneurship: Leveraging Resources for Success is designed to help female entrepreneurs develop the skills and resources needed to take their firms to new levels of growth and profitability. Concepts covered in the course will also address the challenges presented in corporate settings. The web-based course will be available to women entrepreneurs across the country and will be offered as an eight-week continuing education course.

Research has shown that female entrepreneurs often lack confidence, human capital, social capital, and financial resources and therefore put unnecessary limits on the growth of their firms. The course strives to educate women about the unwarranted restrictions that they put on themselves regarding their business and helps to prepare women entrepreneurs for progress within their firms.
