Charter School Dedicated to Helping at-Risk Students Gets Software to Aid with Computerized Learning
NetOp Tech Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of Danish IT company, Danware A/S, announced today that it has donated its software teaching solution, NetOp School, to the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas.
NetOp School will provide a complete, software teaching solution to the networked classrooms at Agassi Prep, a school dedicated to giving at-risk children an equal chance at a solid education and promising future. The software is a teaching program for the computer labs and networked classroom that allows teachers to view and record each student’s monitor from his or her own screen. If a student wanders off task, the teacher knows immediately and can send a private text message to bring the student back on track. The software also allows teachers to share any screen with the rest of the class, freeze a student’s mouse, or turn controls over to a student for a demonstration. NetOp also allows students to request help discreetly and gives them hands-on experience.
“We are looking forward to using NetOp School because it will be a huge asset to students and teachers in our computer labs,” said Freda Vine, technology coordinator at the school. “We want to send our students into the world with the skills and knowledge they need and this type of software provides an excellent tool for our instructors to teach students using computers.”
With NetOp School, teachers are networked to every computer in the classroom so students can easily see the teacher’s demonstration on their own monitor and discuss lessons using both audio and text online. The software also features a test center that allows teachers to quickly customize, grade and evaluate online tests, making it easier to track student progress.
“The Andre Agassi Preparatory Academy, with its mission of helping at-risk youth get a quality education, is a deserving recipient of our donation of NetOp School,” said Jason Vargovchik, NetOp Tech’s county manager for the U.S. “We know that they are working hard to give back to the community and we want to help by providing the best educational software available that helps facilitate both teaching and learning in a networked classroom.”
