Tri-C to Offer First-Ever Introduction to Integrative Medicine Course This Fall

The Health Careers Division at Cuyahoga Community College’s Eastern Campus will offer its first Introduction to Integrative Medicine course this fall. The course will be taught Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:40 p.m. for eight weeks beginning October 20. The course is worth one credit and will be taught at Tri-C’s Eastern Campus, 4250 Richmond Road in Highland Hills.

As more and more people are turning to complementary and alternative medicine, this course offers a comprehensive introduction to the various types of integrative treatments, their theories and principles, effects and indications. Disciplines covered include:

* Reiki
* Polarity
* Massage
* Meditation
* Art Therapy

Students will learn about the history of integrative medicine, its relationship to Western medicine, and the latest research and legislation affecting the field.
