Learning Express emphasizes the power of play and how learning should be fun during the child development process
According to Sharon DiMinico, CEO and president of Learning Express, learning should be exciting and fun for children. Therefore, with children in school-mode this fall, DiMinico encourages parents to incorporate play into their learning experiences by using educational toys and games.
"The notion of bringing playtime into learning is really something Learning Express caught on to early when the business was founded," DiMinico said. "Now more people are beginning to realize that learning should be fun and engaging for children. Since the school year is in full force, this is a great time for parents to begin using these tactics with their children."
Recent reports have shown that children in play-based learning curriculums show stronger academic performance compared to those in more academically focused programs. Although this is a recent trend, the Learning Express brand was built on the notion two decades ago, DiMinico said.
DiMinico suggests the following fun, useful for learning items that parents can use in their child's development and learning process:
* Little Hands Busy Box – There are art projects of plenty in this kit designed specifically for the hands of children two or older. From modeling dough to paper bag puppets and frame decorations, they can exercise their creative juices while also developing their fine motor skills and eye hand coordination.
* Snap Circuits – This sturdy modular set allows kids to investigate voltage, amperage, wattage, current, transistor capacity….the list is as long as the fun! In addition to enhancing cognitive skills, Snap Circuits can also help fine motor skills.
* Friend 2 Friend Bracelets – They’ll band together with beautiful bracelets when they use the daisy wheel to braid bracelets of all kinds to share with friends.
Referred to as the "neighborhood toy store," Learning Express stores carry a variety of children's merchandise intended to engage children through play, creativity and foster developmental growth. Learning Express has become a hub of activity for families with its hands-on atmosphere for kids to "test" their skills, DiMinico said.
