Penton’s American School & University’s “Educational Interiors Showcase” Honors the Nation’s Most Outstanding Learning Environments

Penton Media’s American School & University® magazine today announced the publication of its 2007 Educational Interiors Showcase, a competition feature honoring educational interior design excellence. The Showcase spotlights 97 projects, representing some of the most effective learning environments in America. The projects are profiled in this month’s edition of the magazine and also on the Web at www.SchoolDesigns.com.

A jury of American Institute of Architects (AIA) members and education administrators evaluated submissions from architectural firms, schools and universities across the country. Outstanding designs were chosen for publication in AS&U, a monthly educational facilities, purchasing and business administration magazine reaching 65,000 facility planners, school and university administrators and architects with this issue. This is the 17th year the competition has been held.

Featured projects include designs that look to the future, express contemporary technology, invoke a sense of spirit and inspiration, are courageous and offer quality in their details. The jury used the following criteria to make its selections: high performance, innovation, functionality, contextual relationship, humanism and quality.

More information about the Educational Interiors Showcase, including a complete list of 2007 projects selected for publication, is available on American School & University’s www.SchoolDesigns.com Web site, or by contacting Molly Roudebush, senior marketing manager, at 1-(913) 967-1959 or mroudebush@ASUmag.com.
